Founder

Our founder Alex is a trauma informed Somatic Therapist.

From a very young age she was immersed in the field of movement and mindset. As a competitive gymnast. she had to learn how to work with her fear and anxiety in high pressure situations.

For many years during and after her athletic career she pushed her body past its threshold. She spent nearly a decade trying to pursue a corporate career but her heart felt empty. Her chest constantly tight, fear and anxiety lead her day to day actions.

She stayed in this cycle until her 7 year relationship ended in tragedy. Her self-worth at an all time low. She knew she couldn’t keep living this way, she felt lost and alone.

She knew something had to change. She packed her bags and spent time in Thailand and Bali, where she found herself engulfed in spirituality, mindfulness and somatic practices. It was there she found her purpose and passion.

Upon her return Alex spent years learning from experts in the fields of somatic therapy, mindfulness, psychology, sexuality and spirituality. She has worked with countless clients and uses her traumatic experiences and healing as the foundation for her practice.

She found commonalities across her patients. Many had forgotten how to connect and listen to their body. They were leading life from a place of anxiety and fear, just as she had at the start of her journey. She leveraged somatic therapy, combined with a trauma informed approach, she helped her clients reconnect with their body, find peace, increase their confidence and self worth, leading to them actualizing their full potential.

Alex knew this approach could help even more people and thus founded The Embodiment Collective. A place where anyone could access programs to end their cycle of fear and anxiety.
